Partner Pickleball Leagues

📅 How does the season work?

Our seasons runs 7 weeks: 6 weeks of regular season play, followed by a single-elimination tournament in Week 7.

👥 Do I need to find my own partner?

For the Partner Leagues, yes, you need to register with a partner. But if you don't have a partner, join a Ladder League!

👥 Can we use a substitute if a teammate can't make it?

During the regular season, yes — a sub of equivalent skill level can play, but at least one registered team member must be present for a win to count toward your record. In the Week 7 tournament, both registered players must be present for a win to count; if only one can make it, you can still play the first match, but it counts as a loss.

👥 What happens if we no-show or can't find a sub?

Your team automatically forfeits that week's matches. We always encourage finding a sub, even if neither of you can play.

🏓 What's the match format?

Best 2-out-of-3 games (win by 2), with a 30-minute time limit (tournament week matches are untimed). Games 1 and 2 go to 11 points, Game 3 goes to 7. If the clock runs out mid-match (at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00), stop play and enter the cumulative score of all games into the Game 1 scorecard to determine the winner. Finish early? Keep playing for fun or yield your court time.

🏓 What skill levels/divisions are offered?

Novice (2.0–3.0) — for newcomers still learning the rules and strategy. Intermediate (3.0–3.75) — for players leveling up steadily. Advanced (3.5–4.0) — closing in on that 4.0 mark. Competitive (4.0+) — some of the strongest players in the city. Mixed divisions require 1 woman and 1 man per team. Please register for the league that matches your actual skill level — sandbagging down or playing up takes spots from teams looking for fair, competitive matches.

Ladder Leagues

🏓 What is a Pickleball Ladder League?

A pickleball ladder league is a fun, competitive format where players move up or down the "ladder" based on their weekly results. Each week, you'll play against others with similar skill levels, giving you competitive matches and the chance to climb the rankings as the season progresses.

The Ladder League is individual sign-up doubles play. You register on your own and get matched with different players each week. It's a great way to meet new people!

🏓 How does weekly play work?

You'll be placed on a 4- or 5-person court. On a standard 5-person court, everyone plays 4–5 rounds to 15 (win by 2). On a 4-person court, everyone plays 3 rounds to 21 (win by 2). Your group gets a 90-minute slot each week — note that your day/time can shift week to week.

How are points scored?

Performance Points are calculated as 100 × the percentage of total points you won (for example, winning 53 of 62 points played earns you 86 points). We're also evaluating Bonus Points that increase the higher you climb the ladder (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25). Don't worry, when you register, you will be entered into the Quke app, which will do these calculations for you!

🪜 How do I move up or down the ladder?

Court assignments are reshuffled weekly based on your cumulative League Points — you can move up or down, and you may skip courts in either direction depending on performance.

🙋 What happens if I can't attend a night?

We count on every player or a sub being present each week.

  • If you are able to find your own sub, you receive 80% of that week's League Points. Please work to ensure your sub is as close to your level as possible.
  • If you are unable to procure a sub and let us know with 24 hours notice, you receive 60% of your weekly average League Points.
  • If you no-show and players/staff are left scrambling, you receive 0%.
⏱️ What happens if we can't finish our match in 30 minutes?

If you are unable to finish all matches in the hour and a half, please input the scores for any games played or partially completed to be calculated. Please be respectful of court reservations after yours!

📊 What is your DUPR policy?
  • If you would like league scores to count toward your Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (2.0–8.0), you can opt in by including your DUPR ID in the Smash Park app (or email our team any time thereafter).
  • Only when all 4 players on a court have DUPR (and have opted in) will scores be submitted. This is done by Smash Park; players need not input anything.
  • You cannot withdraw bad results or ask for matches to be logged after play.
🏆 What happens in Week 7?

Players compete for prizes based on where they've landed on the ladder!

Cornhole Leagues

👥 How many people are on a team?

Each team roster consists of 2 players (19+ years old).

🎯 How does the league work?
  • 27-foot toss, cancellation scoring to 21 (no bust), no 0-11 mercy rule, no bounce ons, teammates on the same side of the board.
  • Random contest to determine who "wins the toss." That team can elect to throw first or second (then teams switch order and side after every game).
  • Players are free to bring their own ACL-certified bags.
  • Matches are best 2-out-of-3 games with a 30-minute time limit. If you go into overtime, take the total score from all games and submit as the final score in the Game 1 box.
  • Final scores are logged in our app, but you're welcome to "live score" your games using Scoreholio, flip charts, or your voice.
  • You will play 2 or 3 matches per night.
👥 Can we use a substitute if a teammate can't make it?
  • Yes. In the regular season, subs (of equivalent level) may play, but at least one registered player must be there for a win to count toward your record.
  • In Week 7, BOTH registered team members must play in the tournament for a win to be counted. If only one team member is available for the tournament, you can still play the first match of each round but it will be counted as a loss.
👥 What happens if we no-show or can't find a sub?

We always encourage you to find subs — even if neither player can make it — but if you no-show or are unable to procure sub(s) for a given week, your team will automatically forfeit the matches.

🏆 What happens in Week 7?

You'll play a double-elimination tournament based on season seedings. The top 3 teams receive prizes!

🏠 Do we play indoors or outdoors?

All games are played indoors on our pickleball courts.
