A Whole new level of entertainment

That was the ultimate goal that drove Monty and Kerri Lockyear to start a new venture in 2018. To create something new, something active, and something social. Enter Pickleball.

After considering a number of options, pickleball was the clear winner to guide this new endeavor. A sport that offers instant mastery, promotes an active lifestyle and brings people together to socialize. Once other key ingredients were added–like outrageous events, endless games, chef-crafted food and unique cocktails, Smash Park was born.

Smash Park is a place where you can create your own experience and do something completely different every time you visit. And with several free games, activities, and events–it’s an affordable place to spend time with friends, family and co-workers.

Smash Park’s first location opened in West Des Moines, IA in 2018. More recently, Smash Park has been taking the fun across the midwest with new locations! The second Smash Park opened in 2022 in Pella, IA. New locations are opening in Omaha, NE and Minneapolis, MN in 2024–25, with future locations planned for Minnesota, Illinois and Colorado.

Why Pickleball

Pickleball is now the fastest-growing sport in America, with participation continuing to increase year-over-year. In 2021, pickleball grew by nearly 5 million players in the U.S., according to a 2022 Sports & Fitness Industry Association report. The sport has sparked a nationwide craze and is garnering interest in younger demographics.
